HENS FAQs

The most important thing is to dress warmly and don’t wear your Sunday best… it is a working farm, other than that wear what you wish. The hens really appreciate the odd frill or two! Dress up if you like – it adds to the fun. If you already have wellies, bring them – we have some pairs here.

You are welcome to come to the farm and plan your own itinerary for the rest of the Hen Weekend. The three hour hen party programme costs €40 per person.

You contact Causey Farm directly on 046 9434135 or mobile 0872391354 or email info@causey.ie. We can let you know about availability and give you more info if needed. We will ask for a contact phone number from you and we ask for EUR 100 deposit which is due when the booking is confirmed – this can by paid by cheque or by credit card over the phone.

You can check availability by contacting Causey Farm directly (on 046 9434135 or email info@causey.ie) If there is space available we will make a provisional booking. You then need to contact the accommodation provider directly ie the hotel you want to stay in – the package information and the contact details are here. They will deal with payment.

Here at the farm we are quite flexible, numbers going up or down a bit doesn’t matter to us, but the accommodation providers require more definite details.

There is no group too large for us! Minimum group size 8 people.

The programme lasts about 3 hours

Contact us on 046 9434135 or mobile 0872391354 or email info@causey.ie to have a chat about it, we have always been able to accommodate people so far!

Yes it is, just let us know on the day – pregnant girls need to stay away from sheep in the lambing season which is absolutely no problem if we are aware of it.

Yes if you have them – this is a working farm! Otherwise comfortable shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting muddy.

It is a good idea to bring a spare pair of old shorts/trousers to wear if you plan to get mucky in the bog!

No – the farm is open to groups all the time. We have everyone from Senior Citizens to Corporate Groups, Girl Guides to Artists, foreign tourists to local school tours.

Angela – sister number two of the seven – was brainstorming and came up with this plan. Our friend Olivia, from the Headfort Arms, came up with the luxury side of the package.

The activities are great fun, and some of them are quite active. For safety reasons we ask you not to bring alcohol onto the farm. Also it’s a good idea to be prepared for the outdoors – lots of layers, and of course your wellies!
